George Alfred Headley, Jr
September 8, 1943 – July 9, 2025
The Grandmaster of Fun has left the building, and will continue to operate in Heaven. On July 9th, George Alfred Headley, Jr passed away after providing 81 years of adventure, love and jolliness to those blessed enough to cross his path.
He self-labeled as a “Southerner” – having been born in SC, onthe USA Marine Corp Base - Parris Island. He did time in Philadelphia for his formative years, then onto Clementon NJ, and spent the bulk of his years in the Pinelands of Tabernacle NJ. Born to his parents George A. Headley and Mary Henrietta Headley (nee Hillenbrand), he was also welcomed into the Gates of Heaven by his wife, Alexandria/Sandy Shirley Headley (nee Davis), son George A. Headley III and brothersChuckie Headley and Frank Lavala. He is survived by his daughter Colleen Wade (Chris Wade), son Robbie Headley, grandsons Christopher (Dooter) and Matthew (Matty) Wade, and granddaughter: apple of his eye - Katie Mary Wade (Kah-Koonah), as well as siblings: Richie Headley, Marylin Lavala, Johnny Headley, Joey Headley, and Lisa Long.
The bulk of his career was spent in the Electrical Industry – starting with Franklin Electrical Supply and retiring with Billows Electrical Sales, along with a home business of welding cable assembly and commercial fishing in the Caribbean. He proudly served others: in the US Army, as Tabernacle Little League Coach, and ecstatic fan to his grandchildren’s sports and endeavors.
Having a father in the US Marines cultivated his desire for order and service, and mixed with a passion for merriment: George was a bonus and blessing to have in your travels. Whether serving you at parties, motoring in the Great Bay on his Leaky Teaky fishing boat, or providing games, music and entertainment for family gatherings, he was a brew of FUN EXECUTION!
