Life Story for Gerben " Gary" Osinga
Gerben "Gary" Osinga, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, February 8, at Lawrenceville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lawrenceville.
Mr. Osinga was born and raised in the Netherlands where he worked on a farm and then immigrated to the United States in 1949. He resided in Lawrence Township for several years before moving to Ewing in 2003.
Gary was employed at Walker Gordon Farm where he tended the cows and horses. He was then a truck driver for Princeton Trap Rock for several years. He retired from S & H Green Stamps as a truck driver.
He was a member of Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Hamilton and lately worshiped at Grace Community Church of the Nazarene of Pennington with his wife Annie.
His hobbies and interests were trucks, cars and he was an enthusiastic hiker. He enjoyed singing Dutch hymns and songs with his wife Annie, up until his passing.
Gary was a man of noble character and enjoyed providing for his family, and will be sadly missed by all those that were fortunate enough to have known him.
He was predeceased by his beloved family members consisting of his parents Ruurd and Jantje Osinga, his brother Ale Osinga, killed in world war II, and first wife Eva Mae Underwood-Osinga in 1985.
Gary leaves behind his beloved wife of 27 years Annie G Osinga, Ewing, daughter Grace M and her husband Ronald A Dmytrow Of Lawrenceville also his step-son Roland H Hamilton and his wife Glenda Aldas, of Ca., He also leaves behind sisters Aaltje and her husband Martin Van Dyk, and Anna Van Dyk, of Arizona;. In Netherlands his brother Klaas Osinga, and sister Tina Dykstra, and two granddaughters Tanya Dmytrow and her husband Christopher A., East Windsor; Robyn Dmytrow, Lawrenceville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends globally.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am up until the time of services.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday February 13, at Grace Community Church of the Nazarene, 100 Bull Run Road, Pennington, NJ 08534 with the Pastor R. Wesley Tink officiating.
Mr. Osinga will be carefully placed to rest in the family plot at Fernwood Cemetery, Forsgate Drive, Jamesburg; following the services at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, family kindly requests memorial contributions in Mr. Osinga's name, to the Grace Community Church of the Nazarene, 100 Bull Run Road, Pennington, NJ 08534; Attn: Pastor R. Wesley Tink.
