John S. Anderson

John passed away at home with his family on Dec. 10th after a long illness. Born in Crossford, Dunfermline, Scotland, John came to this area at age four. Serving on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Shangri-La in the Pacific Theatre in WWII, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and five Air Medals. After graduating Rider College in 1949, he worked as a State Auditor of Municipalities, then had a prize winning thirty-year career with International Business Machines. After retirement he started his computer consulting business, Jehn Enterprises, and worked until age 80. He most enjoyed music, piloting a small plane, and swimming. He had with his wife Jean, two daughters, Lea and Barbara. He is survived by Jean, Lea, husband Michael O'Shea, their daughter Jennifer, husband Rich Datres, their children Michalea, Jackson and Griffin of S.C.; Michael Brischler of Hillsborough, with the late Barbara, his former wife, their children: son Erik, wife Cristina, their daughters Melody and Chloe of Boise, Idaho; and daughter Julia, husband Greg Socrates, their daughters Lily and Eva of Long Island, NY; a son-in-law Dr. Terry Pakish, a brother-in-law, John Baldwin of North Port, Fl., and many nieces and nephews. John requested there be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to "Wheels for Worship" at Slackwood Presbyterian Church, 2020 Brunswick Avenue Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
