Lillian Primrose Reeves

December 18, 1939 — June 29, 2022

Hamilton Square, N J

Lillian Primrose Reeves from Hamilton NJ, age 82, affectionately known as Primrose or Prim, passed away on June 29, 2022 from Alzheimer’s disease. Because of compassionate hospice care, she was able to pass peacefully at home with family and friends at her side. Primrose is survived by her daughter Alison Kraus (née Oliver); her son Timothy Oliver; her grandsons David Kraus, Ethan Kraus, and Asher Kraus; her husband Alan Oliver (divorced); her brother James  Reeves and sister Trudy Reeves.

A committed, adventurous, and compassionate individual, Prim had too many extended family and friends to count. She was among the first volunteers for the Peace Corps, serving as an educator in Kenya and the Philippines. Prim was an active member in the Unitarian Universalist church and was a founding member of the Dorothea Dix congregation in Hamilton, NJ.

A lifelong member of the Girl Scouts, one of the first female managers in cable television, and
the first woman invited to join the Hamilton Rotary Club, Prim broke glass ceilings all around
her. She loved birds and took joy in watching the natural life from her pottery studio.

Prim was a steadfast mother and deeply dedicated grandmother, showing up relentlessly not
only for her own grandchildren but also for all young people proximal to her. Known to her
grandchildren as “Jammie,” her presence could be counted on at every sports event, piano
recital, extracurricular performance, and award ceremony. She is profoundly missed.

A private service will be held for immediate family.

The family requests that those inclined send donations in lieu of flowers to the New Jersey
Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alznj.org/) or the Audubon Society
(https://www.audubon.org/) in her name (Lillian Primrose Reeves).
