Nancy Cantara, 83, died May 17, 2026 at Serenity Hospice Inpatient at RWJ Hamilton. She was born January 1, 1943 in Trenton, NJ to the parents of John and Lena DiCicco.
Nancy lived in the Trenton area her entire life. She graduated from Steinert High School. Nancy married her true love, Richard Cantara, on October 14, 1961 of 64 years.
Nancy began working at Klockner School for the Hamilton Township School System and ended her career of over 25 years at Grice Middle School as a Teacher’s Aide. Once retired, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She also loved to dance, spend summers with her grandchildren by the pool and create spontaneous indoor picnics, travel, and host the annual family Christmas party. Her laughter was contagious and she would always have a smile for you. Family was most important to her.
Nancy is survived by her three daughters Paula Cantara and spouse Sherry Race, Denise Steber and husband Michael, Reneé Rouse and husband Thomas; grandchildren Derek Paul, Kiersten Paul, Gabrielle Steber, and Angelina Steber; and great-granddaughter Brynlee Leonard; sister Anna Lewis and husband John, and brother Bill DiCicco and wife Margie. She is predeceased by husband Richard Cantara; brother Joe Moffo and wife Rose, brother Chris DiCicco and wife Gerry, and brother Charles DiCicco and wife Fay.
In memory of both Richard and Nancy, a graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton Township, NJ 08610, Thursday May 21, 2026 at 12:45pm. Please enter at the Cedar Lane entrance and meet at the Pavillion.
