Naomi Leibowitz

January 12, 1957 — June 19, 2025

America lost another silent hero. Naomi Leibowitz, of Yardley Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Naomi was 68 years old and survived by her sister, Joyce Allen and her brother-in-law, Alfred Baltazar Baca of Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Naomi was the daughter of deceased Freda Leibowitz and niece of her beloved uncle, deceased Floyd Leibowitz, who lived with them where she grew up on the family farm in Clarksburg, New Jersey. She graduated from Allentown High School and Rutgers University.

Naomi was a gentle soul who made a difference in many people‘s lives with her contributions to the field of assistive technology. She tirelessly volunteered to different nonprofit organizations supporting disability rights and disability access. She was recognized with several awards through the years of her service, such as the Student Government Staff Appreciation Award when she worked for Temple University. Most recently, Naomi continued her mission focused passion at Disability Rights New Jersey, as the project lead for the New Jersey Assistive Technology Act Program and served in this position until her final days. She was recognized as a beacon of light who worked tirelessly to ensure that New Jersey residents with disabilities received access to the technology needed to lead full and independent lives. What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived, it is the difference we made. Naomi made a positive difference in an untold number of people’s lives.

In lieu of flowers, Naomi requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or Goodwill Home Medical Equipment. She remained very grateful to the comfort these two organizations provided her in her final months
