Robert Alan Michalis

Robert Alan Michalis, affectionately known as Bob, was born on May 31, 1960, in Trenton, New Jersey. Bob passed away peacefully on September 21, the last full day of summer in the year 2026. He absolutely loved the hot days of summer. 

Bob is the beloved son of Donald and Edith Michalis, who predeceased him, along with his dear sister Donna Bishop and brother-in-law Ron Bishop.

 He is survived by his devoted life partner, Jeanine Trucksess, and his loving brother, Glenn Michalis. 

Bob’s close friends include Dave Ridolfi, Art Shipski, Dan Recchia, Dave Lasko, Bill Miller, Ben McMichael, and Joe Vocaturo, all of whom were blessed with his friendship. Bob valued friendship like no other and treasured his relationships throughout his entire life. Always willing to put in a good word to help a friend find a job or by setting a good example, he improved the lives of those around him. 

Bob began his career at RCA Astro Space Division as a quality control specialist and earned awards for implementing highly efficient electronic testing techniques. He later managed the Rider University bookstore, from which he recently retired. 

Bob was a disciplined weightlifter with the guidance of his brother-in-law, friend and mentor Ron Bishop. He was very athletic as a tennis player and bowler, having accomplished the Holy Grail of bowling - the coveted perfect 300 game. Bob enjoyed cooking, especially his spicy hot chili signature dish while listening to the music of his favorite bands including Rush, Genesis, and Yes among others. 

Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed growing vegetables and loved saltwater and freshwater fishing with friends and family. He loved the beach and hot summer days while driving his rusty but trusty Jeep on the beach with friends. Bob was an astronomy enthusiast who could point out constellations and planets by name without the aid of any apps. He was truly one with the natural world and shared his love of animals with Jeanine and their cat Stewie, with Bob always in tune with Stewie's healthcare needs. 

Let us all be inspired by Bob’s legacy of love and friendship as we celebrate his life.
