Roger, 80, of Burlington, New Jersey, passed away September 23, 2024 peacefully with a favorite John Denver song “Take Me Home, Country Roads” playing. He was born in Harrison, West Virginia, to Ralph and Dimple Legg..

Roger was a veteran of the US Air Force (1962-1970). He settled in Pemberton, NJ, with his wife Nancy and their children Lorrie, Penny and Roger Jr.. He had a long career as an auto mechanic in New Jersey. Shortly after retiring from Barlow Chevrolet in 2005, he moved back to WV. Roger returned to NJ in 2022, staying at Masonic Village at Burlington until his passing.

Growing up Roger and the Ramsey Boys loved attending every church homecoming in his WV neighborhood. As he grew older he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, growing vegetable gardens and drinking cold beer. Roger was a Freemason for many years and served at the Masonic Lodge in Pemberton, NJ.

Roger is preceded in death by parents Ralph and Dimple, ex-wife Nancy, and three younger brothers Lynn, Graden and John.

Roger is survived by children, Lorrie of Browns Mills, NJ, Penny of Lumberton, NJ and Roger Jr. of Uniontown, OH; grandchildren: Adam and Ashley, great grandchildren: Julian and Garrett; two sisters: Patricia and Rachel as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

New Jersey: Family and friends are welcomed to visit on Tuesday, October 1 from 10-11 am at the Chapel located at Masonic Village (902 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington NJ 08016). Followed by a short message and time for people to share stories of Roger. After our time of sharing, everyone is invited to a luncheon at Villa Rosa, 38 Route 130, Burlington NJ.

West Virginia: Family and friends are welcomed to attend a memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, October 19 at Wilson-Shamblim-Smith Funeral Home in Clay, WV. After the memorial, there will be a graveside service at Clay Memorial Gardens. Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to a luncheon (details to be provided at the service).
