Thomas James Makar, 80 of Avenel, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2025. Born in St. James Hospital Newark, New Jersey, he was 1 of 8 to Eleanor & Nicholas Makar, now both deceased.
Thomas always had a soft heart for animals and donated regularly to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. He worked most of his life as a truck driver.
His wife, Leslie (Lubetkin) predeceased him several years ago. Thomas, known to his family and friends as Puddy, is predeceased by his brother John Makar.
His surviving siblings are Rosemarie Cuiba, David Makar, Nicholas (Danny) Makar, Robert (Wayne), Makar, Cheryl Monaco-Basinski and Donna Decker.
Per his wishes, no services are planned.
