Walter Scott

November 7, 1931 — April 4, 2018

Walter Scott was carried away to the presence and peace of the Most High by his ministering angels on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
Walter, the only son of the late Louise Scott-Reynolds and Walter White was born on November 7, 1931 in Newark, NJ. He was educated in the Newark school system. On the day of his sixteenth birthday, he was enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for twenty years and retired a Staff Sargent in 1968.
In 1953, Walter met and married his wife, Mary Ellen Rouse. To this union was born a son, Vincent Emanuel Scott.
While he was stationed in Alaska, Walter accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
After being stationed throughout many states of the union, Walter and Mary decided to finally settle back in New Jersey. They became members of Holy Trinity COGIC (Now Courtney Temple COGIC) in 1966 under the lateBishop Esau Courtney, Sr. and has served as a deacon and an usher ever since.
After retiring from the military, Walter work several government jobs and then in the mid 70s decided to obtain an Associates degree in Business Administration. Afterthis, he began a 26 year career as a bus operator for Mercer Metro (now New Jersey Transit) and was known for his friendly personality around the city of Trenton. Everywhere he went around the city, frequent passengers recognized him for his winning smile.
Walter loved his wife dearly and loved being around his family. He loved to read, and in his leisure enjoyed, news programs, documentaries, sports (a die-hard NY Giants and boxing fan), and had a special love for homemade deserts. Some of his favorites were German Chocolate Cake, Jewish Apple Cake and Sweet Potato Pie.
Walter was predeceased by his mother and father, Louise Scott-Reynolds and Walter White. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Ellen, his son Vincent and daughter-in-law Katina, four grandchildren, Anastasia, Isaiah, Arrystah and Amiyah, one great-grandson, Avious, two god-children, Lynn Hullum and Greg Clark and a host of other relatives and friends.
