Wayne A. Allen of Ewing died peacefully at his home on Monday, May 8 after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 66 years and his three children.

Wayne was born on May 10, 1930, and grew up in suburban Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. He graduated from Lycoming College and received a ; master's degree in history from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University He taught history at Trenton State College (later College of New Jersey) from 1963 to 1991. He was a long-time member and served in many capacities in the Ewing Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was active in a number of charities, continuing his involvement well after his retirement. His compassion and generosity will be missed by all who knew him.

He is mourned by his wife, Sylvia; his sons Keith Edwin and Glenn Allison (Sheila), and daughter
Margaret Lynn Allen Chanda (Jerry); and his granddaughter Kristianna Beth Chanda.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Nancy Allen and Edna Littlewood (Larry) and several nieces and
nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Alice Packer and their parents, Roland and Aileen Allen.

A service will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 12:30 PM at Ewing Covenant Presbyterian Church, 100
Scotch Rd., Ewing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church, to the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society at (please specify for New Jersey Metro Chapter) or to Feeding
