Born in Trenton Al was a long-term Chesterfield resident before moving to E. Stroudsburg, PA and most recently resided in Southampton, NJ.

Al was a student of St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Trenton, where he was an active member of Boy Scout Pack #75 before attending Steinert High School in Hamilton Twp.

After high school he worked at his father’s gas station on the corner of Klockner Rd. and Whitehorse Mercerville Rd. where he developed his love for automotive car repair. His talent and passion led him to his lifelong career as a self-taught auto mechanic, fabricator and welder. Al was self-employed for most of his life. His first business was a small garage on Bridge St. in Trenton.

Customers embraced his expertise, honesty and humility. Business grew and Al moved to Park & Broad Exxon, then Whitehorse Mobil on Whitehorse Ave, and finally A&B Automotive on Hovey Ave. before retiring in 2013 due to health concerns.

Al’s interests included hunting, fishing, camping, dune buggying and 4-wheel mountain climbing. He was a member of several car clubs including the Garden State Custom Car Club and the Baltimore Four Wheelers. With his amazing innovative skills, he created two 4-wheel drive vehicles from the chassis up, customizing them for different terrains.

Al will be missed by his many friends, business associates and customers who were fortunate to have known him.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:45 am, on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at St. Raphael’s-Holy Angels Parish, 3500 South Broad St., Hamilton, NJ.
