Gail A. Reed, affectionately known as “Mom”, “Gram” and “Gigi”, passed away peacefully at her home in Lawrenceville, New Jersey on May 27, 2020 with her daughters and grandchildren by her side. Daughter of the late Allan and Louise Croshier, she was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on June 27, 1945. She was 74 years old.
Before moving to New Jersey 22 years ago, she lived in Western Maryland in her log cabin on Bear Creek, where she left a little piece of her heart.
Gail retired in 2015 from Sodexo at The College of New Jersey as the Human Resource Director.
She touched many lives with her generosity and kind heart. She loved to give anonymously by playing “Secret Santa” to those she knew in need.
Gail will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.
She loved gardening, reading and playing scrabble, but her greatest passion in life was her family.
Gail is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Canning and her husband Chris, Kim Macellaro and her fiancé Ben Greenberg; four grandchildren, Megan Owad and her husband John, Michael Macellaro, Kaitlyn Macellaro and Justin Macellaro; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Sophie Owad; her sister Linda Bouton and two nieces, Karin Epstein and Krista Bouton. She also leaves behind many friends.
Due to the current pandemic, a public service will not be held. A private celebration of life will be held on her birthday, June 27th, 2020.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her hospice team, Pat, Korto, and Liz of Penn Medicine Hospice, Princeton. In showing their compassion and care, they soon became part of our extended family.
