Obituary
On August 30 , 2021 Harriet Kramer (nee Maretsky) passed away at the age of 97. Harriet was born in Far Rockaway, NY June 5, 1924 to Nathan & Bessie Maretsky.
She is predeceased in death, by her husband Herb, their son Lanny and her sister Bernice.
Harriet met her soon to be husband Herb ,just prior to his deployment in the US Army in WW II. Over 5 years he wrote to Harriet everyday and upon his return they were engaged and married one month later. Their 62 year love story continued with the births of their two sons, Lanny and Barry.
For most of their married life Harriet was a travel agent, allowing them the ability to travel extensively to many countries. They retired to Sarasota, Florida where they resided for 24 years, until Herbs death.
Harriet moved to New Jersey to be close to her son and his family who cared for her for five years, until the day she died. Harriet was ready to reunite with the love of her life Herb and went peacefully into his waiting arms.
Survived by her son Barry, his wife Donna (Jeffers), grandson Ian and granddaughter Mackenzie.
Over the next few months, the family plans to hold a private ceremony at the Military Cemetery in Sarasota, where Harriet will be permanently reunited with her loving Herb.
