Obituary for Janet G. Shupel (July 21, 1943-October 8, 2022)
Janet G. Shupel, 79, of East Windsor passed away on Oct 8, 2022 at home with her children after short illness. She was born on July 21, 1943 to Alvah and Olive Green in Franklin, NJ. Janet graduated from Newton High School and attended Trenton State College.
In 1970, Janet married Edward Shupel, who has since passed. Janet met Eddie on a blind date and immediately, love was in the air. They married after a short four-month courtship and went on to have three children and a long loving marriage.
Janet is survived by her children Sheryl Shupel (Melissa Hofmann) of West Trenton, Lori Shupel (Marianna Scavo) of East Windsor and Jennifer Shupel of Lumberton, her three grandchildren, Katie, Jackson and Lucas, who were her pride and joy, and her sister, Betty Reed of Raytown, MO
Janet was a wonderful mother who was always there for her family and friends. She had a full life living in several different states yet returned to her birth state when her husband’s health was failing in 1997. Janet lived the remainder of her life, close to her children in New Jersey.
Janet was both a homemaker and worked full time for many years. She was very crafty, and enjoyed sewing, painting, drawing and she especially loved to bake. Janet was so excited to be a Grammy and took such joy in being a part of the lives of her precious grandchildren and loved watching them grow and learn.
Mom will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
There will be an open house vitiation for friends and family on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the home of Lori Shupel at 8 Lindenbrook Way, East Windsor, NJ 08520 from 2 PM to 7 PM.
